Pennsylvania Methadone Clinic in Landmark Negligence Case
A landmark court ruling in Blair County, Pennsylvania has stated that a methadone clinic may be found liable of corporate negligence in the wrongful death of a patient. According to the lawsuit, Crystal M. Ickes had received methadone treatment at the Alliance Medical Services and was allowed to leave in an overly sedated state.
Subsequently, Miss Ickes either suffered a seizure or fell asleep at the wheel, running off the road, striking on oncoming car. According to the lawsuit, the car accident resulted in her death and permanent neurological and brain damage to the other driver. The court ruling sets the stage for other Pennsylvania personal injury lawyers to pursue similar cases going forward.
